Systematic behavioral modeling of nonlinear microwave/RF circuits in the time domain using techniques from nonlinear dynamical systems

چکیده
A powerful and systematic approach to behavioral modeling of nonlinear microwave/RF circuits in the time domain is presented, integrating several techniques from nonlinear dynamical systems analysis. Algorithms based on information-theoretic principles help determine efficient tradeoffs between model accuracy, speed, and complexity. Models are constructed from large-signal microwave measurements or simulations, and are integrated into a commercial nonlinear circuit simulator. A simulation speedup of more than an order of magnitude has been achieved.

Determination of Stability Domains for Nonlinear Dynamical Systems Using the Weighted Residuals Method
Finding a suitable estimation of stability domain around stable equilibrium points is an important issue in the study of nonlinear dynamical systems. This paper intends to apply a set of analytical-numerical methods to estimate the region of attraction for autonomous nonlinear systems. In mechanical and structural engineering, autonomous systems could be found in large deformation problems or c...
متن کاملModeling of Jitter Characteristics for the Second Order Bang-Bang CDR
Bang-Bang clock and data recovery (BBCDR) circuits are hard nonlinear systems due to the nonlinearity introduced by the binary phase detector (BPD). The specification of the CDR frequency response is determined by jitter tolerance and jitter transfer. In this paper, jitter transfer and jitter tolerance of the second-order BBCDR are characterized by formulating the time domain waveforms. As a re...
متن کاملNonlinear Circuit Simulation in the Frequency-domain∗
Simulation in the frequency-domain avoids many of the severe problems experienced when trying to use traditional time-domain simulators such as Spice [1] to find the steady-state behavior of analog, RF, and microwave circuits. In particular, frequency-domain simulation eliminates problems from distributed components and high-Q circuits by forgoing a nonlinear differential equation representatio...
متن کاملWorkshops and Short Courses
This new workshop aims to cover aspects related to transceivers for wide-IF and SDR systems, is a rapidly growing area of investigation for 5G and other applications. As SDR systems proliferate and wider-IF receivers and transmitters are needed for other reasons (multi-channel, wide modulation bandwidth...), the study of the transceivers themselves is increasingly important. Topics including IF...
متن کاملNeural Networks for Microwave Modeling: Model Development Issues and Nonlinear Modeling Techniques
( ) ABSTRACT: Artificial neural networks ANN recently gained attention as a fast and flexible vehicle to microwave modeling and design. Fast neural models trained from measured simulated microwave data can be used during microwave design to provide instant answers to the task they have learned. We review two important aspects of neural-network-based microwave modeling, namely, model development...
